Viaggiatori is an online and open access journal, published twice yearly, which stands as an international and interdisciplinary forum for debate on the topic of travel thanks to the osmotic flow of studies and inputs from research, which will progressively outline and define the languages of cultural and social history, the geographical, sociological and anthropological aspects, and much more.
Throughout history, scholars, artists, engineers, exiles and missionaries have characterised their travels around the world by crossing over paths and experiences. Owing to the creation of a thick net of relationships and the intermingling of mixed identities, they not only have marked the Western history, but also fostered the inclusion of multiculturalism all over Europe.
The journal sets the scene for a great area of debate through the most varied contributions enabling a widening and deepening of all interrelated economic, political, religious, cultural and techno-scientific issues, which, more than other topics, can definitely shed light on the underlying reasons for mobility and exchange.
The journal is divided into four sections:
* A thematic dossier suggested by the Scientific Committee including a wide range of articles selected on the double blind peer review basis
* Varia, a special section dedicated to articles chosen and suggested by the members of the Scientific and/or Reading Committee
* Fonti, a special section including all unpublished sources and critical editions
* Reviews and reports of seminars and meetings.
We are currently seeking contributions for our fourth issue. Full article manuscripts are due by 31 January 2019 for inclusion in the March 2019 issue. The essays, in English, must be 70000 characters, spaces and notes included, in Word format.
